Should I block him on Facebook?

My ex boyfriend is acting stalker-ish now, messaging me on Facebook night and day. I loved him a lot but he broke things off. I don't want to be with him now. Should I delete and block him?

If his messages are threatening or abusive, or harassing in any way, you need to delete and block him.

If he's asking for reconciliation and you are not ready for that, then just say so. Also, be sure to tell him to stop messaging you. You might have already done this, but maybe he isn't taking your request seriously. Just say that you need some room to breathe for a while to get your thoughts together. Time apart will likely be a good thing.

Since you know this person in real life, you can just as easily pick up the phone and call him to talk about why he is acting this way.

That will likely get the situation resolved more easily.

If you have moved on, then you should make it clear that you have no interest in this man. Your former ties won't justify this type of stalker behavior.

A difficult situation but the best thing you can do is send him a final message stating why you can't be reconciled, wish him well for the future and tell him you will be blocking him, as you both need to get on with your lives.
If he starts to act like a freak and you feel in any way threatened, then you might need to contact the authorities.
Break ups can be hard but they are part of life and you shouldn't feel guilty.
Good Luck.

An amicable parting is always the best solution as it helps preserve any small amount of friendship that is left, while making it clear there is no chance of getting back together. Also, there is less risk of someone being harmed in this way by breaking things off amicably with clear intentions.

For your own safety, block anyone that is being harassing or acting in an inappropriate way.

You might think you still know this person but if their behavior has recently changed, that could indicate a dangerous mental break that could endanger your health or safety.

Don't wait too long to act in this situation as you may let sentiment get in the way of good common sense. Emotions can sometimes cloud better judgement.

Pardon me for this comment, no offense meant to anyone. Ifind the younger generation to be using social media for their whims and
caprices aside from their rants. Worse, they are using social media for their
sinister intentions like quarreling, stalking and trolling. With separated
couples, it is common to see pictures posted by the ex and you can guess what
kind of picture that is. When you are stalked by someone, the best is to block
him and change your profile name. At least your account will have a semblance
of a new person and your stalker may somehow be stymied. It is foolish to let
people stalk you or threaten you via Facebook. Just don’t let them harm you in
any way.
