How do you manage distractions on Facebook?

Most days, I don't want to be bothered by Facebook friends. Though it's nice they would want to talk to me, most times these friends are just bored and looking for entertainment. That's not good, when I have work to do. Suggest some ways I can limit distractions on Facebook.

Do not get on it unless you have to.

Keep yourself invisible/offline on fb. It will help you in concentrating on other features of facebook or your website How do you manage distractions on Facebook?

Or you could set a timer and only be on fb for that amount of time and then make yourself get off it.

Also, don't bother messaging back when someone messages you. And, you can set chat to off for certain friends who are constantly messaging. Then the messages will go to inbox but it will look as if you are offline.

In the last holiday season, I had received tons of Christmas greetings and after a week it was followed by a barrage of new year greetings. Most of those greetings are images or GIF and videos that they probably received and had forwarded. Those forwarded items seemed to have no value to me. So what I did was to ignore those private messages and until now, they are yet to be read. Why let myself be distracted by those messages when I can ignore them? Not reading them is the same as not responding to them so most of them tend to quit sending me messages. And I’m happy in having peace in my inbox.

It's all about focus. Always be focus on the things you got to do. And don't get distracted about messages, tags, mentions etc. You can deal with that after your jobs done.
