Everyone knows that Google (and other search engines) send a majority of the traffic to websites. Sure, some rely on affiliate marketing or PPC ads, but most websites get a majority of their traffic from search engines, specifically Google.
I just wanted to create a short tutorial on the easiest way to track your keywords on Google. It can literally all be setup within a few minutes and for basically free.
Signup for a 30-day free trial at RankTronix.com - there's other rank trackers you can use as well, but RankTronix is the one I'm the most familiar with and has the best prices. Plus, they offer a 30-day free trial to test their service. So, I'll be using them in the example below, but feel free to use any rank tracker.
After signing up for an account, login and click the "Manage Campaigns" option at the top. Select "Websites & Keywords" from the drop-down menu.
You'll now be able to add your website by clicking on "Add New Websites / Keywords". On the left side you will enter your keywords (one per line), enter your website, and choose which search engines to track. I'd suggest just starting off with Google.com so you can see how the system works.
You can also the keywords to different groups or setup local tracking on this page. I haven't played around with those features as much, mainly just tracking keywords on Google. After adding your keywords, simply click on the "Dashboard" link and you'll see the rankings for your website for each of those keywords.
I should mention that there's a ton of other features built in that you can use too. For example, you can setup reports to automatically be emailed to you or create shared report links for others to see your rankings. In fact, you could even have reports sent directly to your Google Drive or DropBox account. There's a ton of features and too many to explain here. Plus, the point of this quick tutorial is just to show you how easy it is to track your rankings.
Remember, search engines send a majority of traffic to most websites. Your time is important and I'm sure you don't want to waste it by checking all your keywords manually. So, I thought this tutorial could help some of you save a bit of time and money along the way. And hopefully help you increase your rankings and make more money!
P.S. I know some of you already know about rank trackers. Don't forget that not everyone knows as much as you do
