Credibility in your niche is another huge bonus you will get from forum participation. After posting in the same forum for awhile people will start to listen to and respect your opinion as a niche expert. And, then you are more likely to get click throughs on your link, which could result in sales for your product or ad clicks.

Forums are very useful, there is no doubt to it.
Get targeted visitors, you can build backlinks and you can learn in forums as well.
