Just out of curiosity - How are you guys Marketing your Youtube / Vimeo videos with SEO? Do you think it is beneficial to keep your 'about' section of any particular video, short & to the point, utilizing on tier 1 and LSI keyword structures? OR is it more beneficial to write your own / have someone write a 100% custom 250-500 word article about the videos niche topic, and utilize that in your description?
I am doing a huge test right now which I will post the results to in a few weeks - But wanted to gather your guys thoughts in the process on what you see working best right now.
I am currently utilizing my test w/ both methods and it seems the shorter videos w/ less of a description are bringing in more real converting traffic than the long descriptive ones... So far my analysis shows that our end-users have not changed a bit ;) Still too lazy to read, just want to click click click
Would love to get a good convo started on this topic
Post away my friends!

This is an experiment that I'd appreciate a follow-up posting after you've done since I've had a few questions in this approach arena as well. If I might make an offbeat suggestion: try an alternate 3rd stream test where you're augmenting your 1st approach with hashtag-reinforced keywords also. Especially as YouTube/Vimeo video have Social cache as well. This may well be an approach that shakes something loose for your project. I wish you the best in that endeavor.
