Bing's future

What do you think about Bing and its future online? Microsoft spent a lot of money developing and promoting Bing, so far it hasn't paid out.
Will Bing remain the underdog of Search Engines or it will eventually disappear making room for another project like MSN did?

So long as there's a Microsoft, there will be a Bing or at least a Microsoft related search engine. Microsoft is constantly competing with Google. No reason to think they'll give up their third position spot so easily just cause they're not the king of the hill.

I read that bing is losing money with Bing. I can't see any reason they would shut it down though, it is still a billon dollar industry and they hold a large share of searches already.

Bing has not taken off as Microsoft expected. I think its because of the bad strategies of Microsoft.

I have hurt that the Google have tried to make a social media like G+ 3 times and failed. But ultimately they have reach the level of fb. Sometimes even better. Now no one can create any kind of google service like blogger, gmail, youtube , etc with out G+ ac. this is how they have developed.

Even on microsoft, they are still the most popular operating system. I hope more that 95 % people using them. So they also will not give up the game. Surely the will come with new set of solutions.

This thread was created in 2012. Its 2017 now and Bing is still here. As long as Microsoft is alive, Bing will survive. It may have some other name though. Many of Microsoft services have ceased however, they have introduced better services. Hotmail is no longer available. However, we have outlook. MSN chat is not available however, we have Skype. Bing is competing against Google, however, Google can never knock down Bing.

I think Bing would eventually disappear if it doesn't evolve into something that would attract people. the chances of that happening is very slim at the moment, Google is gobbling up the competition and remains the worldwide choice for search engines.
