I don't know that it's a violation of TOS, but I wouldn't risk my Adsense account. You can just as easily rewrite your own content or post one paragraph posts on a new blog, if you are desperate for new content.

That's a violation. If you are using Adsense, you must publish original contents only. When you copy contents, you not only violate the copyrights of the person who originally wrote the article, but also violate the Google's Adsense rule. It is better to rewrite if you cannot create your own content.

Google AdSense frowns at any content already on the internet being reposted no matter the owner of the said article when once it has been published already it shouldn't be republished again.

So yes it will violate copyright law and AdSense policies.

If you own the content that you copied from a previous publication, I don’t think it constitutes plagiarism. However, you have to give notice that it was copied otherwise if Adsense would track it as a copied item with no disclaimer then you might be in trouble. And to be on the safe side, always include a notice that a particular content is an excerpt of or copied from another site or printed media.

Duplicate content and plagiarism are two different things. plagiarism means stolen content, republishing content that you did not create or do not have rights to use. Duplicate means similar content exist. If you republish your own article, it will be considered duplicate content. Adsense does not like plagiarized contents as well as duplicate contents.
