Hello,

Not many people are interested in fitness, so you need to target a very selective audience. Make sure you have great SEO work done to get the 'healthy lifestyle' audience you are looking for. You can achieve this by running ad campaigns, which in my opinion is the best way to grow your audience for your genre. Unfortunately, not many people are interested in this area. What I would like to know is, what fitness stuff are you promoting/selling and giving information about? What country is this website targeted to? Why should people who are very active in fitness routines visit your website? Do you have any fitness material that works? Do you provide free eBooks?

Many people these days will flock to your website if you have like 5 minute workouts or something. I recently helped a friend with a fitness 'how-to' and guide website, and the visitors love it for those 5 minute workout routines. Maybe you can include something like this, or a 'how-to'.

You should also google:

Best method to get six pack abs in 5 minutes [popular amongst 14-25 year old males]
Best method to firm your butt [popular amongst 17-25 year old females]

These are quite popular amongst online fitness based websites. These searches are just an idea.

If you do workouts, you could record some workouts, and upload to Youtube.

Hope this helps!

Kind Regards,
Everett

Fitness and weight loss are a very popular (and highly competitive) niche online. You can get real members by advertising in fitness/weight loss forums online (via the ad section or forum signatures); by posting relevant and helpful comments on other fitness related blogs; advertising offline via business cards/flyers (or other print media) distributed to fitness clubs. These are just a few ways to get real fitness members to your website.

I totally agree with @Beverly on this, a lot of people are genuinely interested in fitness and weight loss activities, and any assistance that they could get even on forum/blogs would definitely mean a lot to them.

I have to disagree with Everett on this. People are very interested in fitness. Use signatures online and be a part of other forums to get some traffic to your site. Leave comments on blogs as well.

I think @Everett is within her rights to express here opinion and suggestions, maybe it has worked for her or someone she knows, the only important thing is that @cubs chooses what best would work for him. People are definitely interested in fitness and workout programs, who actually prefers to be fat these days?

Fitness is huge to me. I think that if you comment on blogs you can get some good traffic to your site. Advertise on like forums as well if you can.

This is actually going to work just perfectly fine. I think that @Beverly suggested this as well, so therefore, I'm also in support of it as a best way to go for your fitness website.

    Good luck.

Such a good idea! Another way would be to make guest posts on fitness related blogs as you are sure to attract fitness users who are interested in diet and work out tips to your own site. Most times, you are allowed to leave a signature line or author's resource box on every guest post.

Did you try Facebook ads for fitness users? Or, advertise in some Facebook fitness groups that allow advertising of links or Facebook pages?

I think Facebook ads would really help you in generating good traffic to your site. Personally, I'm into fitness too, although I don't own any gym yet but I try as much as I can to help others who come to me for one assistance or another. My main focus of training is on abs, I will upload my abs picture here for you maybe it will interest you.

    Thanks.

Sorry, I'm having difficulty uploading my abs picture for you, maybe when I come across your fitness website online then I would offer you any assistance that I could.

    Good luck.

When you say fitness, I assume it’s not only the workout. There are lots of people who are interested in fitness and I’m one of them. If you have a social media account then try promoting your website there. Just make your promotional post creative so it can attract potential visitors to your site.
