Sending personalized email messages to your best customers

Here's something you might not have thought to do, but it could be worth taking time to write a personalized email for your most valued customers. This email would not be cookie cutter or template. It would be tailored to that specific customer's interests and would even reference previous purchases, as well as mentions of things that might help the specific customer or even free tips and advice. The email would be consultation style, low or no pressure style selling and based on helping the customer rather than making another sale. This could be a good relationship building tactic for keeping customers happy and coming back.

Most autoresponders allow you to use form elements within the emails such as subscriber name, etc that plugs in that person's name automatically. However, even this can seem 'canned' and artificial. It might be best just to personally compose an email rather than leaving the email up to chance that it will appeal to your reader.

It wouldn't take much time to compose a personal email to some of your best paying customers, those people who actually took time to make big ticket purchases. This would be the same as sending a private message to a repeat freelance client, asking them if they need your services. You are just targeting those who previously expressed interest in your work.

If each person is worth a lot of money as in they have already made purchases in the past and likely to make additional purchases, then you should consider taking the time to create personal messages which speak to their own individual needs. If one message takes fifteen minutes and results in $1500 worth of sales, don't you think that would be worth it?

This idea could be a good way to convert regular customers into affiliates or generate referrals from someone who loved your product before. Just taking time to write that email from scratch rather than just spamming them like the others could result in better results.

I think personalized marketing is always better. You can find that some of the times such customers can be retained this way. They feel more closer to the brand. And you earn the trust. So that is one good practice if you ask me. And more and more business should try it through the email marketing. I have found that some of the mail marketers are doing this in many ways to reach the customers.

I think that customers appreciate the personal touch. I think a personalized email is good, and a hand written note or card is even better. It shows the customer that you value their business enough to give them some personal consideration.
