What's your best technique for being a better writer?

Reading inspires me to write. When I read, my head is filled with new information and ideas and eventually those things will come out in the form of a new article. Even, if I am not reading as part of research, but for my own personal pleasure, the ideas still take hold.

I rarely read fiction, so maybe that's why I don't bother writing fiction. But, I'm constantly reading nonfiction such as blogs to help me solve daily problems (such as home repair, blogging tips, SEO, webmaster, etc).

My best technique for being a better writer is to read a lot and all the time, even when not writing. It really pays off.

What is your best tip or technique for being a better writer? Please share your ideas and success stories.

Just keep writing, even if you are no good at it. After awhile you will develop your own voice and be able to write fluently enough to communicate your ideas.

Practice writing a lot, don't stop even when you think you have achieved perfection. This is how I'm constantly improving my writing skills, just nonstop practice and publication whether on my own blogs or for a customer who is paying me to write.

Become proficient at research on Google. Otherwise how will you find the best information for your articles?

Finish the work then leave it and go back to it a few days later or even the next day to check for mistakes.

I love to read a lot, especially articles that have tips on being a better writer. Also, I like reading content by good non-fiction authors as I'm always studying writing styles even as I read.

Stay true to your own unique voice as a writer and never bother to imitate or copy anyone else's style. This is the best technique for being a good writer. You can never truly make a success when you imitate another person's style. Just find your voice and stick to it.

When you read you will get the better idea on how to write. You can learn from the masters by reading their works.
Writing.
you can develop your writing skills only by writing. You should write every day, you should rewrite what you have written.
Research.
Writing does not come from vacuum. You need to become a great researcher to be a great writer.

I have been writing for 3 years now. To be honest, I have no formal training in writing although I used to write office manuals when I was new in my job. I wonder why I got to enjoy writing. Maybe it is the added knowledge that I get since before you write, you have to read a lot otherwise it’s only your stock knowledge that you can share. And I now consider myself a writer who is still improving especially in the choice of words. I am learning new synonyms so my readers will not get bore with the repetition of words and terms that I use.
