Where do you host your freelancer (portfolio) website?

What site would you suggest for creating a freelancer website, such as one which will contain links to your references/portfolio site, etc? For instance, do you think it's good enough just to put this on Blogger?

Your freelance website is a good investment, so don't be afraid to put money into it with your own hosting, Wordpress software and a proper domain name. The domain name should help you brand your own business or describe your own services. So for instance, if your services are SEO related, then your site should include the word SEO. However, if you are a writer, you would want to include something about writing rather than SEO.

Starting your own Facebook page would add great credibility to your seocheckout/freelancer brand and help establish yourself as a professional in the eyes of others seeking professional freelance services. Though Facebook is not a traditional way to create a freelancer website, it is very modern and most likely will be found by those needing your services.

Blogger won't be good enough for a professional website, unless you have your own domain name.

You should consider starting your own Wordpress blog about your services. This type of blog will allow for more flexibility when it comes to hosting your samples and content.

I have a personal website which I use as a portfolio website. The people visiting my website will not only know about me and my achievement by also hire me for my services. I also have a personal blog and my blog also has a section where the visitors can see my portfolio. I think dot me is a good extension for a portfolio website.
