Question About Selling Software

No, I didn't read that any where, previously I tried to sell a software, but it was rejected by seocheckout. It happens with my friends also.

Do the Seocheckout TOS forbid a new seller from selling software? I have not read this before. Can you post a link to the place where you read this?

You will have to provide your what proves you are the owner of the software by providing the rights that you have to sell the software.

Oh, no wonder my software wasn't show up for weeks when I was new to seocheckout. I had contacted support and they found an excuse disallowing me to sell my software.

Can you be more detailed as to the specific reason(s) given about why they would not let you sell that software?

I had submitted my software that I bought from an auction with license from the developer to claim the item as mine and resale it. In fact, I wasn't know that I was "submitting", not "listing". After few days past, I had no news of the submission and I contacted support.

These are the reasons they told (not in a row):

I spent so much time explaining to them that I have legal rights to resell although that software isn't made by me and it's totally comply seocheckout' Terms of Service but they still told me I hadn't provide them sufficient proofs. When I continued asked them what kind of proofs do they want as I'm really innocent, I can provide anything they want but they became silence. :mad:

They provided you with very detailed reasons as to why the software was not allowed. So it's not like they did not give you any reasons.

All software submitted undergoes review before being allowed on Seocheckout and this is to prevent copyright infringement issues for the site.

Every Seocheckout member submitting software would need to abide by these guidelines mentioned here, not just new members. And, if the proof you submit is insufficient to prove you have resale rights (even if you were told by the person who sold you the software that it was), then they will not allow you to offer it.

The third explanation, 'similar to an existing software' is most likely reason the software was not allowed. So even if you submitted more proof that you have resale rights, it still will not affect the decision.

Letting ten people sell the exact same software on Seocheckout would only create a bidding war where everything was being offered at $3.00 and then there is no profit for the site on those orders.

Then what they want me to do since they refused to tell me what to submit but I must submit to prove I have resale rights?

What type of documentation or proof did you receive from the seller that shows you have resale rights? This is the documentation that you would provide to them. For instance, did you receive a pdf document stating your resale rights?

Maybe you will have better luck trying to sell another software here. Just be sure to get that proof of ownership if you are buying software with resale rights.

I can only speak as to resale rights products that I have purchased in the past. For instance, when purchasing an ebook that has resale rights, it will usually state inside the ebook 'You now have resale rights' and then give a detailed description of how/when/where you may resell the ebook/product. Sometimes the resale rights notice is contained in a pdf document that is created and signed by the creator of the ebook or info product. This will contain the name of the ebook author as well as a detailed listing of rights being transferred to the customer.

I am not sure how it works when purchasing software. So your standard of proof may be different.

Just talking about ebooks here, but with a software, you may be given some other type of proof of resale rights ownership.

I will do more research on this issue online and see if I can come up with a more definitive answer that might help you.

Have you tried purchasing private label rights software and then branding it with your own name? I am not sure if this would be acceptable, but the point of private label rights is that you can change it to claim it as your own.

Though maybe if there is a similar software already on seocheckout, then the software will still be rejected as a duplicate.

Why would it be impossible? The previous owner may have resold it to other people. For example, there is a well-known scammer who has been banned from several webmaster forums for selling "exclusive" rights to scripts and software to ONE person as the sole owner, and then he resells it to someone else later. It's a common scam.

If so, then it isn't buyer's responsibility since the seller is the scammer.

If you are selling it on an open marketplace, like seocheckout, then it IS the your responsibilty to prove you have the rights to sell it. If someone else is selling the same software that you both bought from a scammer then you're out of luck, as you don't have exclusive rights to it here.

I don't have experience with purchasing software for resale online. Can you tell me what type of proof the seller should be giving to the buyer so he has rights to sell it? For instance, if I were to buy a software, what proof would I need to say that I can resale it? I have checked Google on this question extensively and can't find an answer. Your help is appreciated.
