When everyone says you shouldn't blog

There are some doubters in my life (mostly extended family) that say I should give up blogging on the internet and trying to earn money in that way. They say I should focus on real life issues and I do this by being there for my family and friends and keeping a regular job. I don't know why people have to be so negative about my blogging, it's not like blogging is getting in the way of life and hopefully it will produce a sustainable income that would help out my family.

You have the right motive to help your family out by blogging, so don't be discouraged by a few nay-sayers.

I first started online with a blog 8 years ago and I've been making a full time living online ever since then, so it can be done. Good luck to you! When everyone says you shouldn

Most of those people are not experienced with internet marketing anyway and likely don't understand the blogging process. So why would you be taking advice from them anyway?

It's funny how people automatically have that assumption of how working online isn't "a real job".

Different strokes for different folks, right? I'm not a 9-5, Monday thru Friday kinda girl. I work part-time at the hospital, and I work online. Asmodeus works online only.

Some family members share the same feeling about working online and how it's "not a real job". We, and many others, work extremely hard to get where we're at. Don't let them get to you. I know it's annoying and at times you can feel hurt by what they say or do, as even their body language defines what they're actually thinking; but at the end of the day, it's what makes you happy. It's your life!

Sometimes I think people bring up these opinions because they're jealous. They didn't make the ultimate decision to stay home with their families. They didn't walk down the path to increase their flexibility and freedom. They chose to work for "The Man", and being under "The Man's Rules". We, as online workers have the freedom they long for. ;)

And, this is why I don't bother to get my family involved in my blogs as they don't really know what blogging is about. Best to let them wonder what you are doing than try to involve them and then take bad advice which hurts your career or business.

Personally, if somebody says I shouldn't be blogging, I just ignore them because that is their opinion and really they are just jealous cause you are doing something that they aren't. Never let anybody tell you not to do something you enjoy.

I will never listen to people who say I should stop blogging. Even though I am not earning much from my blogs, I am continuing to blog in a hope that one day my blogs will bring fortune to me. I have been writing online since 10 years, most of the time I wrote for writing sites. When some of these sites went down, I lost my work as well as money. Had I concentrated on my own blog instead of writing on residual income sites,I would have built successful blogs in 10 years that I have been writing online.

The thing that matters most in your life right now is what you think of yourself. If you see yourself as being good enough to go into blogging, then there is no need listening to what anyone would like to say. I mean this is your life for goodness sake and what others say matter little to your development as a human being.

I actually had that experience – being told to quit bloggingbecause it interferes with my professional and family life. Maybe they were right that’s why I quit co-writing a blog because even if I am not writing, the blog is in my head and sometimes I couldn’t think well in the office. Perhaps I had to admit that I have no spare time for blogging. It was a hard decision to make but I am happy now that I did. So next time I do blogging, I want to make sure that I really have enough time for it.
